Visit the tranquility of a village nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks....

GLADSMERE, a turn of the century Victorian built in the Colonial Revival style, is located on the banks of East Canada Creek. Gladsmere still features the original Czechoslovakian chandeliers, fireplaces, stained glass windows and oak paneling.

Minutes away are areas to bicycle, bird watch, hike, fish, cross country ski, rock climb and antique shop (snow mobile). Museums, historical sites and cultural events are within an hour's drive.

After your journey or day's outing, you will find the front porch an inviting place to relax with a lemonade or soft drink. Books, games, puzzles and conversation await you in the library, parlor or sewing room.

Following a restful night's sleep, enjoy a full breakfast in the formal dining room or on the screened-in porch overlooking the creek. Breakfast varies from day to day, but will always include juice, seasonal fresh fruit or hot fruit compote, homemade breakfast breads, and a main entree.

Your Dolgeville stay will be made more enjoyable in Gladsmere's scent free/smoke free environment. To maintain that environment, guests are asked to refrain from wearing colognes, perfumes, scented lotions or other scented toiletries which could trigger allergic reactions in other guests. However, we are not an allergy free establishment.
